A Bathing Ape and adidas go way back, and for their latest collaboration, they’re taking on a silhouette that they’ve never worked on before: the BAPE x adidas Orketro. Giving the Y2K running shoe a vibrant remake, even though this collection has only just been announced, fans of the Japanese streetwear outfit are already calling it BAPE’s best to date.
Revealed in three colour combinations, the first pair features a “Core Black” mesh construction and is overlaid by glossy patent leather throughout. The second continues with the stealthy vibes with a dark aubergine colour scheme. While the third is the brightest and most vibrant pair yet, painted in a palette that somewhat resembles the Brazilian flag.
But the thing that makes A Bathing Ape’s Orketro even more special is that it replaces the usual Three Stripe branding with the label’s legendary shooting star. All of this then rests on top of chunky adiPRENE midsoles, and they come packed in special edition shoeboxes that were made exclusively for this collab.
With a design that bridges street and sport, the BAPE x adidas Orketro pack introduces a fresh perspective to adidas’ retro running category. Expected to launch on November 15th, let us know which colourway you’re feeling the most, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
