First Look: Nigel Sylvester Air Jordan 1 High Retro “Black”

BMX star Nigel Sylvester gives a preview of a possible second Air Jordan 1 High collab. Following the release of the popular 2018 pair, currently re-selling for over £500 via StockX this new colourway keeps the same design aesthetic as the first one, with the signature scuff marks. The Nigel Sylvester Air Jordan 1 High Retro “Black” celebrates the BMX athlete’s debut book launch this October 2022. We all know how popular the first one became, insanely hyped and coveted by sneaker collectors!

While there’s only limited information about the shoe as of writing, let’s take a first look at the Nigel Sylvester Air Jordan 1 High Retro “Black”. The preview images showcase Nigel Sylvester himself wearing the shoe. We’re hoping this gets the green light for an official release soon!

This pair comes dressed in Black premium leather with Swoosh on the sides and another embroidered Swoosh on the forefoot. Similar to the 2018 pair, the shoe rocks scuff marks and yellowing sections as a nod to well-used kicks.

Laces come in White, while the Nike Air label utilises bright Red hues. The Jordan Wings logo on the lateral part appears in White with aged aesthetics.

Reflective materials hit the Swooshes yet again. The pre-distressed look makes its way to the yellowing midsole as well.

A Red outsole finishes the design of this possible sequel to the 2018 version.

Sources say that this Air Jordan 1 High is exclusively gifted by Jordan Brand for Nigel Sylvester to celebrate his book launch titled “Nigel Sylvester: GO”.

With that in mind, we’re uncertain that a general release is likely to happen anytime soon. But we can hope!
