First Look at the Apron Records x Nike Air Max 180

At the end of last year, we got a sneak peek of the Apron Records x Nike Air Max 180. For those who don’t know, Apron Records is a record label that specialises in Black music, including jazz, hip-hop, electronic, and soul. Founded in 2012 by Steven Julien, ever since it set up shop, it’s been known for pushing creative boundaries. And for its first ever collaboration with Nike, it’s hoping to do the same.

While most Air Max 180s are quite bright and vibrant, this leans on the stealthier side of things. Dipped in a “Dark Atomic Teal” colour palette, it’s crafted from premium materials like leather and suede, with faux croc details scattered throughout. The suede itself has been given a moss-like appearance, adding a vintage, organic feel to the sneaker.

Of course, you just can’t talk about this special edition AM180 without bringing up the lace dubrae. Inspired by a razor blade, it’s a sharp nod to Apron Records’ raw, unapologetic aesthetic. Elsewhere, embroidered yellow 180 branding pays homage to the shoe’s heritage, while a cow print Swoosh adds an unexpected twist. Tying it all together are pre-aged Air bubbles that look like they’ve been swiped straight out of the archives.

Dropping on March 8th, let us know if you’ll be going for the Apron Records x Nike Air Max 180, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
