BAPE x adidas Samba: The Terrace Classic Gets a Muted Tokyo Makeover

The adidas Samba continues its reign, and this time, it’s getting a fresh stamp from BAPE®. The Tokyo-born label has been a long-time partner of adidas Originals, shaping a series of collaborations but nothing quite like this one. This latest link-up strips things back, offering a minimal yet look that feels different from what we’ve come to expect from the brand.

Arriving in two classic colourways, ‘Core Black’ and ‘Footwear White,’ both pairs stick with the usual premium leather construction. The signature rubber T-toe returns at the front, nodding to the Samba’s football DNA. Along the sidewall, BAPE’s shooting star logo replaces the Three Stripes, while gold “A BATHING APE®” branding cements the collaboration.

Small changes make a big difference here. The tongue keeps the elongated ribbed football boot design, a detail straight from Samba’s archive. Underfoot, the gum rubber sole does what it’s always done best—providing grip, texture, and that timeless terrace-ready finish.

Instead of leaning on its famous camouflage or loud graphics, BAPE takes a different approach this time. The design focuses on clean contrasts and understated execution, letting the history of both brands come through in a subtle way. A classic shoe, refreshed without losing its roots, because of how easy this one is playing, it could do very well with the masses. Stay tuned for the release date!
