Cow Print, Tassels, Shell Toe: CLOT Pushes the Superstar Again

Edison Chen continues to test the limits of what we expect from classic adidas styles with the CLOT x adidas Dress Superstar “Cow Print.” This latest take pulls the Superstar away from its basketball roots and drops it straight into unfamiliar territory. The shell toe stays put, grounding the shoe in decades of adidas history, but everything below is definitely first of a kind.

A stacked, loafer-style sole replaces the classic rubber cupsole, shifting the stance and giving the silhouette a more formal feel.

The upper leans fully into contrast. Hairy pony-hair panels wrap the sides in an all-over cow print, bringing texture. Cream leather across the toe box and tongue helps calm the pattern, while jagged tongue edges add a slightly raw finish. Tassels at the laces nod to traditional dress shoes, completing the hybrid feel.

Like much of CLOT’s work with adidas, this pair challenges what a Superstar can be, while still respecting where it came from. Would these make your rotation, or are they too wild or formal for your taste? Drop your take below.
