The Virgil Abloh Archive AJ1 “Alaska” Finally Drops on March 2026

Some silhouettes never fade from relevance and the Air Jordan 1 High sits way at the top of that list. And when Virgil Abloh’s design language meets that shape again, people are always gunna pay attention. The Virgil Abloh Archive x Air Jordan 1 High “Alaska” revisits the blueprint that shifted sneaker culture in 2017. This time, it moves under the Virgil Abloh Archive banner. Same feel. New chapter.

The colour palette is pure winter. Crisp white leather wraps the upper, layered with breathable mesh panels and translucent accents that give it that icy tone the “Alaska” nickname hints at. Blue zig-zag stitching secures the Swoosh in place, floating slightly off the sidewall in true Abloh fashion. It’s subtle, but it definitely stands out.

On the medial side, the familiar Helvetica text returns. However, branding now reflects the Virgil Abloh Archive instead of Off-White, marking a shift in ownership while keeping the design language intact. “AIR” remains stamped on the midsole. “SHOELACES” still prints across the laces. Exposed foam at the collar and tongue keeps that unfinished, prototype feel that defined the original drop.

Underfoot, it’s what you’d expect from classic Air Jordan 1 tooling. Encapsulated Air cushioning. Firm support. Flat, stable ride. The shape stays true to the OG 1985 build, which matters to the collectors.

Expect demand for the Alaska to mirror the frenzy of the 2018 European-exclusive. These will be quite limited so expect chaos on March 28th.
