Vintage tones with aged aesthetics headline this classic adidas Rivalry colourway. This iconic shoe saw a surge in retro releases recently, and we can expect more to come throughout the year. The adidas Rivalry Low “Off-White Aluminium” boasts yellowish accents with rugged Grey hues to complete the old-school makeover. A great summer shoe option, especially in this colourway!
The Rivalry never really disappeared from the brand’s back catalogue as it usually appears in some Y3 renditions. But the regular version never really got the spotlight as other trainers kept shining. This surge of releases is good news for adi fans because now they have more footwear options!
Adidas looked forward to competing with other brands in the basketball footwear department in the 80s. Aside from the Forum, the Three Stripes also brought the Ewing. However, Patrick Ewing eventually signed elsewhere, so adidas needed to change the name of the shoe. And so the adidas Rivalry was born. This silhouette originally released in 1985 as the brand’s counter to the Nike Air Jordan 1.
The Rivalry is a basketball shoe of its own. You can easily differentiate this model from the Forum, which features ankle straps. The adidas Rivalry boasts a much sleeker look, covered in various adidas brandings such as the three stripes and trefoil logos.
This adidas Rivalry Low “Off-White Aluminium” features an Off-White base with greyish Aluminium tones on the three stripes. Suede comprises the Grey areas for that vintage look.
You can cop this summer-ready adidas Rivalry colourway this April 2023 on the adidas UK website.
