Fresh off the Air Max Day 2023 celebration in March, Nike wastes no time bringing us more general release AM1s! We actually have a handful of expected Air Max 1 colourways dropping throughout 2023. This includes some limited ’86 Big Bubble styles. The Nike Air Max 1 “Mica Green” arrives with muted tones of Green along with White and Grey accents for an earthy aesthetic. This is the perfect colourway where you can both stand out and blend in!
We go back to the standard Air Max 1 releases following the ’86 Big Bubble release. We saw the differences in the overall shape of the shoe and the size of the Air unit. This new colourway arrives in the classic colour blocking for a clean and fresh finish.
The Nike Air Max 1 began making waves in 1987. But a year prior, Nike released the shoe with a completely different Air unit. The Air bubble was bigger and wider; which also posed problems for the brand as it popped more often. Tinker Hatfield modified the design and came up with the Air Max 1 we have today.
Mesh comprises the upper of the shoe, while leather and suede make up the mudguard and midfoot overlays. Bill Bowerman’s waffle sole invention became a signature outsole design on many Air Max models, including the AM1.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Mica Green” features a White mesh base with a Mica Green leather mudguard. Grey suede overlays form the midfoot area. More Mica Green tones arrive on the Swoosh and Nike labels.
This new Air Max 1 colourway releases in April 2023. Stay tuned as we can expect more AM1 drops throughout 2023!
