New Balance has spent the last few years pushing beyond its signature comfort zone, and the “Warm Skies” pack feels like the clearest snapshot of that shift. Rather than leaning on archive heavyweights, the collection centres newer silhouettes — the ABZORB 2000, 204L, Ellipse and 740 — and dresses them in washed sunset tones that feel closer to contemporary running culture than classic lifestyle footwear.
That approach feels increasingly rare. Most brands still build collections around a single hero model. New Balance is using the pack to introduce newer franchises, test future staples and prove its lifestyle line-up runs deeper than the 990 series. The colour palette might reference sunsets, but the bigger story is the brand quietly reshaping what its next generation looks like.
Below, we take an on-foot look at some of the pairs in the “Warm Skies” pack.

One of the standouts in the pack is none other than NB’s latest ABZORB 2000. Clad in a summer-ready yellow and orange gradient detail to match the yellow mesh upper and muted grey overlays. The ABZORB SBS pods underfoot appear larger than they usually do thanks to the neutral-toned midsole above, highlighting the model’s futuristic look.
What makes the pack land is the timing. The market has largely moved on from loud collaborations dominating every conversation, leaving room for strong inline projects to carry real weight again. New Balance understands that better than most right now. Rather than treating colour as an afterthought, “Warm Skies” gives four different silhouettes a shared visual identity without making them look like variations of the same shoe.

Next in the lineup is the NB 204L. This trainer features a grey and muted orange upper with a bold pink hue outlining the brand logos. Green hits appear on the nylon lace loops, as well as the panels at the toe and heel.
The New Balance 740 “Warm Skies” uses a similar formula. But this time, it heavily combines an off-white base with dark grey overlays. Bold yellow and pink hits run across the curvilinear sections for a pop of colour.
Another addition to the collection is two colourways of the Ellipse running shoe, divided into men’s and women’s versions.
