Jordan Brand is bringing back one of the most iconic Air Jordan 1s of all time. After years of experimenting with Reimagined editions and the ’85 version, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Royal” is officially returning in its original leather construction for Fall 2026.

In recent years, Jordan Brand shifted original colourways to the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 while introducing Reimagined versions on the standard High OG. That strategy produced releases like the Patent Bred, Lost & Found Chicago, vintage Black Toe, and the suede-clad Royal Reimagined. While some releases became instant hits, the Royal Reimagined failed to capture the same excitement among collectors. For 2026, Jordan Brand is returning to what fans have been asking for: a straightforward retro in premium leather.

Royal blue leather covers the toe box, Swoosh, heel, and ankle collar, while smooth black leather wraps the overlays, eyestays, tongue, and mudguard. Nike Air branding returns on the tongue, completing the timeless OG aesthetic.

Although the colour blocking remains unchanged, the overall build has received subtle refinements. Early images suggest slightly thicker leather with a more pronounced tumbled texture on the blue panels, giving the sneaker a more premium feel than its 2017 predecessor.
The silhouette also adopts Jordan Brand’s newer High OG shape, first seen on the Lost & Found Chicago. Blending elements from both the 1985 original and the 1994 retro, many collectors consider it one of the best Air Jordan 1 shapes released in recent years.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Royal” is scheduled to release on October 10, 2026, via Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers. With its faithful leather construction, refined shape, and legendary black-and-blue colour scheme, this release marks the return of one of the greatest Air Jordan 1s ever made.
