The long-awaited Nike x One Piece collaboration is finally official, bringing three legendary Devil Fruits to life through completely reimagined versions of the Air Max Plus. Headed by Nike’s .SWOOSH division, the collection draws inspiration from the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Mera Mera no Mi and Ope Ope no Mi. Instead of simply applying new colours and graphics, Nike has created completely retooled uppers exclusive to the anime collaboration, allowing each sneaker to reflect the appearance and supernatural abilities of its corresponding fruit.
All three sneakers feature unique details, including a Nike-branded Jolly Roger emblem on the tongue. The special designs dramatically transform the Air Max Plus while retaining the silhouette’s recognisable Tuned Air cushioning and aggressive shape.

The One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Ope Ope” will not receive a SNKRS release. Instead, the sneaker will be available exclusively through selected retailers in the United States and Europe beginning September 19. Participating locations include Patta in Amsterdam, Politics in Dallas, Sole Play in Decatur and Lawrenceville, AFEW in Düsseldorf, Offspring in London, Footdistrict in Madrid, One Block Down in Milan, Arts & Rec in San Diego, SNS in Stockholm and Somewhere in Washington, D.C.
With no wider SNKRS launch currently planned, the Ope Ope edition could become one of the collection’s most difficult pairs to secure.

The One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Mera Mera” will also skip a traditional SNKRS release. The fire-inspired colourway will be available through selected retailers in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Mexico beginning September 12.
Pop-up and retail experiences will take place in Hong Kong, Jakarta, Mexico City, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei and Umeda. Australian fans will receive a later opportunity through Supply in Sydney from October 16 to 18. Like the Ope Ope edition, availability will be extremely limited and restricted to participating regions.

The Gomu Gomu edition will be the only sneaker from the collection offered through SNKRS, although the purchasing method will vary by region.
In the United States, Japan and selected European countries, fans must participate in a poll on the main SNKRS feed between August 23 and September 18. Selected participants will receive a push notification on September 18, giving them access to enter the Gomu Gomu pre-order on September 25.
China, Mexico and Australia will receive a standard SNKRS release without the pre-order process, while customers in South Korea will have an opportunity to purchase the sneaker through SNKRS Exclusive Access on September 25. Nike SNKRS
The wider One Piece x Nike collection begins its rollout with the Dr. B’s Research Lab pop-up in Tokyo from September 4 to 6. Each Air Max Plus colourway will retail for $180 in the United States, but release dates and availability will depend heavily on the region.
With completely redesigned uppers, deep references to the original manga and an unusually complex release strategy, the One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Devil Fruits” collection is shaping up to be one of Nike’s biggest anime collaborations yet.
The collaboration also extends beyond footwear with matching jerseys, caps, graphic T-shirts and a vest. Several pieces feature actual manga panels, while others reimagine classic Nike advertisements as One Piece illustrations. Luffy’s hand-drawn Jolly Roger also receives a Swoosh-inspired makeover across the collection.
