Air Jordan 8 “Knicks” Brings Championship Energy for Holiday 2026

New York basketball is having a moment, and Jordan Brand is joining the celebration with a Knicks-inspired edition of the Air Jordan 8. Although the sneaker isn’t an official New York Knicks collaboration, there is no mistaking the inspiration. We can all recall that the Knicks were one of the Chicago Bulls’ most formidable opponents in the NBA’s Eastern Conference in the ’90s. The design begins with a predominantly black nubuck and suede upper, allowing the franchise’s signature blue and orange colours to command attention.

Orange covers a substantial portion of the midsole, giving the finished sneaker far more contrast than earlier unofficial mock-ups suggested. Blue, black, and orange detailing appears across the sculpted heel panel, while additional blue accents reach the outsole.

The iconic cross-straps retain the Air Jordan 8’s instantly recognisable structure. At their centre, the embroidered “23” appears in orange with a blue outline. A soft chenille tongue patch completes the look with another bold combination of Knicks-inspired colours.

Its final design differs noticeably from the early renderings that circulated online, particularly around the midsole. Those mock-ups showed a darker, predominantly black finish, while the official version gives orange a much larger role.

The timing could hardly be better. With interest in Knicks colours reaching new heights following New York’s championship run, the release should carry plenty of momentum into the holiday season. The Air Jordan 8 Retro “Knicks” is scheduled to release on December 24, 2026, through Nike and selected Jordan Brand retailers. The sneaker will arrive in a special blue version of the classic Jordan “face” box.
