A Christmas colourway was always going to suit an Air Jordan, but the Air Jordan 3 “Santa” has a better idea than its red and white upper. The main highlight of this colourway? The printed insoles feature the iconic Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” from a 1985 Nike holiday advert showing Santa stuck in a chimney. It links this kids’ release to the earliest days of MJ’s signature line, giving the seasonal design a throwback moment.

The shoe uses University Red leather across most of the upper, with darker Gym Red panels at the toe and heel. Those panels take the place of the elephant print usually associated with the Air Jordan 3. White on the tongue, lace area and midsole gives the red space to stand out, while an outlined red Jumpman keeps the branding within the colour scheme. The result looks unmistakably festive without changing the Jordan 3’s familiar shape.

There is one more playful choice around the ankle: fuzzy black lining that calls to mind Santa’s boots. Alongside the hidden advert graphic, it makes the pair feel more considered than a standard sneaker dressed in Christmas colours. The reference will appeal to collectors who know the original Air Jordan 1 campaign, though someone seeing it for the first time can enjoy the joke just as easily. Neither source provides a basis for claims about warmth or comfort from that lining.

21 November 2026 is the reported release date for grade school, preschool and toddler sizes, with Nike SNKRS and select Jordan retailers listed as expected outlets. Take note that the Air Jordan 3 “Santa” is exclusive to kids, dropping alongside the AJ3 “Not Nice” on the same day. What are your thoughts on this pair? Is it going to be on your Christmas wishlist?
