Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble “7-Eleven”: Retail Return?

The Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble “7-Eleven” was meant to arrive on 11th July, a date with an obvious connection to the convenience chain. Instead, its orange, green and red stripes prompted a trademark lawsuit, and Nike pulled the planned launch. Now 7-Eleven has dismissed the case, bringing the shoe back into the release conversation.

The appeal of the colourway is easy to see even without the legal story. Part of the “Konbini” pack alongside the “Lawson” colourway, the “7-Eleven” edition nods to both convenience stores. This Air Max 95’s wavy side panels carry bands of orange, green and red over a pale Sail base, with textured suede giving the bright colours a softer edge. Brown accents on the toe and heel add warmth, while the enlarged visible Air unit gives the sole its substantial Big Bubble profile. The colours recall 7-Eleven’s signs, but this is not an announced collaboration.

That use of the 95 makes the reference especially clear. Sergio Lozano’s 1995 design was built around layers inspired by human anatomy; its side panels have always offered a strong canvas for colour. Here, the stripes line up so closely with a recognisable retail identity that the design became the dispute. The pair was planned alongside a blue, Lawson-inspired Air Max 95, connecting both shoes to Japan’s convenience store culture.

Is the Air Max 95 “7-Eleven” Releasing?

7-Eleven argued that the colour combination and proposed 7/11 launch could make shoppers think it had endorsed the shoe. It withdrew the lawsuit on 19 October, and the court approved the dismissal the next day. The case ended without a ruling on infringement; neither company has publicly explained the decision.

Retailer calendars suggest another release may be coming, though any date remains provisional. The lawsuit is over, but when and where this Air Max 95 releases is still unconfirmed.
