The Nike Air Force 1 Low Square Toe Arrives in Classic Colourways

The AF1 is so familiar and iconic that changing its toe can make the whole shoe look strange. Nike’s new Air Force 1 Low SQT, or Square Toe edition, proves exactly that: the leather uppers and recognisable rear sections remain, while the rounded front stretches into a flat edge with angular corners. With the classic “Triple White” and “Triple Black”, there are no competing colours to distract from the altered proportions.

That familiarity gives the experiment its bite. Designed by Bruce Kilgore and introduced in 1982, the Air Force 1 was Nike’s first basketball shoe with Air cushioning. Its subsequent life as a streetwear staple has made its outline recognisable far beyond basketball. Squaring off that outline changes something people already know instinctively, even if they have never owned a pair.

The result brings a touch of dress-shoe and cowboy-boot geometry to the court silhouette. Hypebeast reports that the design first appeared during Paris Fashion Week earlier this spring. The connection makes visual sense: the extended front gives the AF1 a more formal, slightly awkward stance, particularly when viewed from above. Its appeal will depend largely on whether that unfamiliar shape feels intriguing enough to wear.

1. Nike Air Force 1 Low Square Toe “Triple White”

The White/White edition retains an all-white leather upper and traditional heel construction. The uninterrupted colour makes the squared front especially easy to read, giving an everyday white trainer a distinctly different outline. Its product code is JF7766-100.

2. Nike Air Force 1 Low Square Toe “Triple Black”

Black leather and matching black components give this version a heavier visual presence. The familiar rear profile makes the angular forefoot feel even more unexpected as the viewing angle changes. Listed as Black/Black, it carries product code JF7766-001.

Both the Nike Air Force 1 Low Square Toe “Triple White” and “Triple Black” will land on 6th November 2026 via Nike. UK pricing and availability remain unconfirmed.
