Nike Air Max 96 II "Black / Sport Red / White"

You’ll never go wrong with a pair of this Air Max 96 II in the “Black / Sport Red” colourway!

It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen this Sergio Lozano masterpiece. But now that it’s back once more, Nike brought new colourways for the modern era.

There are two versions of the Nike Air Max 96. The first one featured a mesh base upper with leather overlays that took inspiration from ocean waves. It continued the mini-Swoosh branding from the 95 and is located on the rear. Visible Air Max units in the heel and forefoot are back in the usual Air Max setup.

On the other hand, the Nike Air Max 96 II featured a different upper. Nobody really knew why there were two renditions, but the running trainer appears with a more reinforced upper. Surrounding the rip-stop mesh upper are multiple leather panels that provide more support. There’s the leather forefoot, leather mudguard, and an external panel on the midfoot and the rear. The large Swoosh returned in the midfoot area. Even the eyestays are reinforced with leather too.

The new Nike Air Max 96 II “Black / Sport Red” features a “Bred” makeover. The entire upper’s adorned with Black, while hints of red grace the Swoosh logos throughout the upper.

Within the black midsole are two visible Air Max units in the forefoot and the heel return for reliable all-day cushioning. A black and white waffle traction outsole completes the classic Air Max model.

Released last October 2021, the Nike Air Max 96 II “Black / Sport Red” is available now on the Nike website and from select retailers worldwide.
