The Nike Blazer is finally back in Off-White fashion. This time featuring its low-cut rendition with recognizable designs from Virgil Abloh. Check out this pair in a Blazer Low “Black and Green” makeover. Perfect for those unique fashion seasons!
It’s been a few years since we’ve last seen the Nike Blazer appear in an Off-White collab. But it’s finally back once more, in a way that was a far cry from the aesthetics of the earlier renditions. The first Nike Blazer x Off-White sneaker dates way back to 2017, during Nike and Off-White’s debut “The Ten” Collection. It featured a deconstructed and vintage finish along with other classic Nike models.
A mainstay among Nike’s lifestyle silhouettes, the Nike Blazer first entered the market as Nike’s premier hoops shoe. There were two versions of the shoe; the Blazer Mid and the Blazer Low. The Blazer Mid’s intended to provide more padding on the interior, while the low-cut counterpart gives a less restrictive fit; specifically on the ankle area.
Leather and suede usually make up the upper, while the sole’s comprised of solid rubber. And a herringbone traction pattern on the outsole for reliable grip.
Off-White bestowed Virgil Abloh’s creative genius to various Nike Blazer Mids. And now, the Lows finally get its time to shine.
Combining all of the past designs we’ve seen on Nikes and Air Jordans, this Blazer Low x Off-White “Black / Green” comes in extra detail. And by extra we mean a totally new look for the coveted classic.
The black leather upper comes with circular hole inserts – similar to the Air Jordan 5. And also has extra laces in neon green apart from the regular lacing system. Exposed foam on the tongue, quoted shoelaces, and a signature zip-tie return in typical Off-White fashion. On the medial side, Nike and Off-White branding appear.
The biggest modification can be seen on the heel portion of the sole. A sharp-edged sole houses green and blue plastic inserts in the heel. It was a modern addition to the usual rubber sole we’ve gotten used to.
Slated for an October 2021 release, expect the Nike Blazer Low x Off-White “Black / Green” to arrive on the Nike website.
