Admittedly, we can never get enough of the Nike (Tuned 1) Air Max Plus! This new Nike TN Air Max Plus “Midnight Navy” goes on top of our must-cop list for this year with its eye-catching details.
A staple sneaker nowadays; the Nike TN Air Max Plus became the talk of the sneaker community when it came out in 1998. It showed how Nike further developed the already-innovative Air Max technology. Because of the positive reception from the public, Nike Tuned Air silhouettes continued to release in the following years.
The Air Max Plus was a futuristic sneaker at launch, way ahead of the sneaker game. The blow-moulded Air units on the Air Max Plus boasts more support and extra durability for your all-day activities. Nike managed to combine lightweight mesh and TPU cage for a lightweight ride.
Drawing inspiration from beach life in modern cities, the Nike TN Air Max Plus is built with a breathable mesh base upper. The wavy TPU fingers pay homage to palm trees and ocean waves that first came to mind during a trip to the beach. They’re strategically placed throughout the upper to add structure and support. Most colourways feature a fading effect, but this one didn’t even need any because it’s already iconic as it is.
Yellow Nike “TN” logos on the heel add extra detail to the shoe. Complementing the dark makeover of this colourway.
The toe and mudguard add durability to the shoe. A foam midsole houses the two visible Tuned Air Max units which are decoupled with a TPU arch, this takes inspiration from a whale’s tail and provides torsional support. Finishing it off is the ever-so-reliable waffle traction outsole.
Scheduled for a late 2021 release, this Nike TN Air Max Plus “Midnight Navy” is set to end this year with a bang.
