This Nike Dunk rendition shouts for egg hunts! While Easter is far off the calendar, this Nike Dunk Scrap SE “Grey Haze Phantom” boasts soft pastel hues all over the upper. Nike wastes nothing in this new Nike Dunk Scrap model.
Just like every other old-school Nike shoe, updates and design changes aim to bring a more modern approach. That’s exactly what’s going on with the new Dunk silhouette. A lot of things are happening on the upper; from exposed stitches to extra overlays, this Dunk Scrap is part of the brand’s Move to Zero campaign. With a handful of releases in the past year, expect the Swoosh to bring a lot more.
The Nike Dunk arrived in 1985 as the main hoops shoe model for college basketball. While the Air Force 1 dominates the professional leagues, the Dunks bring school spirit to the amateurs. Nike’s “Be True To Your School” campaign featured the Nike Dunks in various school colours. The two-tone colour blocking was an instant hit – becoming highly sought-after pairs even today.
With the arrival of new and more futuristic basketball shoes, the Nike Dunk moved to Nike’s Sportswear label; along with other vintage Nike basketball shoes turned lifestyle sneakers.
The new Nike Dunk Scrap model takes the form of the Dunk Low, but with an updated upper. Perforated mesh appears on the midfoot and the heel, while leather panels cover the rest of the toe and forefoot. Overlapping layers on various areas provide extra durability and reinforcement. Suede on the heel add flair to the shoe.
This Nike Dunk Scrap SE “Grey Haze Phantom” appears in a Light Bone body. Soft hues of Pink and Light Green adorn the overlapping eyestays, stitching, lining, and heel panel. A perfect makeover to celebrate Easter.
You won’t have to wait long for its release, as this shoe is scheduled for a late January 2022 release.
