Every time there’s an Olive and Orange colourway on a Nike, it always reminds us of an icon from 2006. This new Nike Air Max 97 “Black Olive” gives off Air Jordan 4 “Undefeated” vibes! Highly evident with its Olive Green and Orange accents. A total attention-grabber that is perfect for your all-year sneaker rotation.
Another welcome addition to the growing roster of Air Max releases, this new Air Max 97 boasts “Flight Jacket” similarities. While colour schemes like this usually arrive for Fall seasons, Nike didn’t waste time showing previews of what to expect for this year. This is definitely going to be another Air Max banger that’s for sure.
The Nike Air Max 97 has always been a sensational staple option ever since it came out in 1997. Designed by Christian Tresser, the AM97 took design inspiration from the ripples of water and Tresser’s love for mountain bikes. Some even say the sleek and sharp construction of the shoe is an ode to modern Japanese bullet trains. Whatever the inspiration was, the Air Max 97 is truly unique.
The wavy panels on the upper also feature reflective details that shine bright under the right lighting conditions. Mini Swooshes on the sides stamp Nike’s brand identity, while more Air Max labels appear on the tongue and the heel.
Below the upper is the first full-length Air Max unit. Housed within a foam midsole, the Air Max 97’s iconic Air unit also made its way to the next model – Air Max 98.
Reliable waffle sole serves as the traction and finishes off the design.
This Nike Air Max 97 “Black Olive” features an Olive Green leather and mesh base, with Orange hues on the wavy panels, Swoosh, and Air pillars. The rest of the details come in black for an “undefeated” finish.
Technically not an official collab with UNDFTD, this shoe is still pure heat. Expect an official launch as we go through 2022.
