More colourways of Nike SB’s latest signature shoe continue to roll in 2022. After officially launching in early January, the Nike SB Ishod Wair is ready to keep things going; this Nike SB Ishod Wair “Summit White / Game Royal” boasts huge “Military Blue” vibes and finished off with a classic gum sole.
This is unlike any skate shoe we’ve seen before. We all know how the likes of SB Dunks and Janoskis remain popular Nike SB models. That’s why Nike and 2013 Thrasher Skater of the Year Ishod Wair brought a whole new design for the modern skateboarding era. This new colourway isn’t only good for skating, it’s also going for turning heads the same way skaters perform tricks. It’s really that good.
After his stellar performance in world championships, Ishod Wair officially joined Nike in 2016. As a newcomer to the Swoosh, he wore the Nike SB Dunk Pro in his own exclusive colourways. Not long after and in 2022, Ishod finally gets his own signature shoe.
Inspired by the 90s, the Nike SB Ishod Wair features a classic mesh and suede upper combination. Sounds simple enough does it? But the shoe also boasts moulded plastic overlays on the sides similar to the setup on the Air Jordans 4 and 5.
The reverse Swoosh on the rear pays homage to the Nike Air Darwin, a basketball shoe from the 90s. There’s another mini Swoosh upfront – just to make sure we get to see the branding even more. These design tributes are taken from Ishod Wair’s love and appreciation for basketball – which was his first love.
A React drop-in midsole provides maximum comfort and impact protection during hard landings. Underneath is a rubber sole featuring a data-mapped herringbone traction pattern for better grip.
This Nike SB Ishod Wair “Summit White / Game Royal” arrives in an all-white base with greyish suede reinforcements. Royal Blue pigments hit the mini Swoosh, midfoot stitching, “Ishod” labels, and certain portions on the heel.
A gum rubber outsole completes the refreshing design of the new skateboard sneaker.
This new colourway highly reminds us of the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue”; which is possible as the silhouette takes design cues from 90’s hoops shoes like the Jordan 4. Keep an eye out for its release in early February 2022 on Nike.
