Salehe Bembury is no stranger when it comes to trainers that are a little out-there. From Versace to Yeezy, over the years, the New York City-based designer has applied his weird and wonderful aesthetic to all of his creations, and the same can definitely be said about the upcoming Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Sneaker. Set to be his third silhouette with Crocs following the Pollex Clog and the Pollex Slide, it shifts away from the cosycore vibe and firmly steps into gorpcore territory.
At first glance, these kicks looks like a mixture between a pair of running shoes and a pair of hiking boots. Its dimensions are pretty oversized, but they fall perfectly in-line with the Pollex DNA that we all know and love.
The top half of the silhouette seems to be made from a textured peach leather, which offers up an extremely premium look and feel. Creamy mesh panels wrap around the collar for additional comfort and support. While all of this looks quite normal, the bottom half is where things get a little wild. Dipped in a bright green hue, this midsole has been swiped straight from the Pollex Clog, complete with the fingerprint-inspired detailing and everything.
Light grey blobs make their way across the lateral and medial sidewalls with a healthy amount of co-branding, and along the back, you’ll spot a woven pull tab for extra convenience. As with all drops by Salehe and Crocs, all of this is packed in a cardboard box that’s fully recyclable and ultra sustainable.
Not much else is known about the Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Sneaker at this moment in time, but it’s expected to release sometime in 2024. If you want a pair in your rotation, make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
