When KAWS and Nike work on a shoe, sneakerheads across the globe just know that they’re about to experience something ground-breaking, and this statement certainly holds true with the freshly-announced KAWS x Sky High Farm x Nike Air Force 1. While this collab is definitely a lot simpler compared to the Brooklyn-based artist’s other trainer projects, it’s one that should still be on your radar. That’s because, not only does it look good, it actually does some good too.
A three-way partnership between KAWS, Sky High Farm, and Nike, this coveted drop was revealed out of nowhere. At its core, this Air Force 1 comes in your classic “Triple White” and “Triple Black” colour options. With an all-leather construction, toebox perforations, and a brushed steel dubrae, it’s a formula that has worked wonders for well over four decades. However, as soon as you look past this, you’ll realise that they’re so much more. The Swooshes across the sidewalls have been replaced with a cloud-inspired one, that is described as “printed, dye-cut Swoosh detailing.”
What also sets this apart from the rest is the fact that it has been specially made for a charitable cause. Not only does the collection, which includes both footwear and apparel, feature reused shoes and clothing, all proceeds support Sky High Farm — a “nonprofit increasing access to fresh, local food through direct donation of 100% of harvests and investing in long-term solutions for food security.”
