According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of the Dragon is officially upon us, and to celebrate this massive moment, Nike has unleashed the beast that is the Nike Dunk Low “Year of the Dragon.” A tribute to the fifth animal in the legendary line-up, make sure you read on to find out everything that we know so far.
From a distance, this Dunk Low bears a striking resemblance to the ever-popular “Grey Fog” that dropped back in 2021. Crafted from a full leather construction it features a very similar grey-on-white colour palette that’s extremely clean. However, that’s where all the similaritires seem to end. The entire inside lining is set alight in a fiery red (a nod to the colour for luck), and the insoles are decorated with cute illustrations showing kids setting off firecrackers and lighting lanterns – traditional activities that are done throughout Chinese New Year.
Across the sidewalls, you’ll also find a slick black Swoosh that’s surrounded by a playful dragon. This is actually attached using velcro, similar to the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Doernbecher” that launched earlier this summer. All of this then sits on top of a rubber midsole that’s as comfortable as it gets, finalising the beastly design.
Unfortunately, the Nike Dunk Low “Year of the Dragon” is a kids exclusive, but that’s not going to stop some of you from trying to squeeze into a pair. Expected to release around January or February, make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
