In an industry where most men lead; KCDC opened as an inclusive and supportive skate shop aimed to unify Brooklyn, New York’s skate scene. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2021, the Nike SB Dunk High Pro “KCDC” finally lands in 2022 in the UK. Various shades of Pink together with stunning brand labels headline this skating footwear staple.

Since its founding in 2001, KCDC owner Amy Ellington promoted community-driven efforts and campaigns through the years. Initiatives such as yoga for skateboarders, skate clinics, art shows, and more, provided a lot of opportunities for the women and the youth. These activities helped KCDC become one of the most unique skate shops in the local community. The two-decade milestone celebration comes in the form of this pink-filled Nike SB Dunk High Pro.

The Nike Dunk’s legendary run began in 1985. Back then, it was Nike’s top basketball shoe together with the Air Jordan 1; not quite the lifestyle shoe that it is today. Years later, the shoe eventually became the casual everyday option as new technology pushed the 80s shoe out of the basketball sneaker rotation.

In 2002, Nike introduced the Nike Skateboard division – or Nike SB for short. The Nike SB Dunk became the marquee silhouette and matched the popularity of the regular Dunks. Various collabs with other skate brands and skate boutiques turned some limited-edition SB Dunks into a grail for many collectors.

This Nike SB Dunk High Pro x “KCDC” features a Pink nubuck and suede upper combo. A darker shade of Pink makes up the nubuck base, while lighter hues adorn the fuzzy suede overlays. Black Swoosh logos, laces, pull tab, and midsole complement the female-led KCDC theme.

KCDC branding appears on the tongue and the heel pull tab.

Underneath the black rubber cupsole is a gum outsole – ensuring a style like no other.
