The year has literally only just begun, and we’re already getting a glimpse at some of 2024’s hottest collabs, like the upcoming Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Elkins.” Rumours of this colourway first surfaced back in October, but sneakerheads refused to believe that La Flame would work on something so bright and so vibrant. However, it looks like these initial reports have finally been confirmed, as we take a look at the actual shoe itself.
Originally dubbed the “Canary,” this Air Jordan 1 Low boasts an all-leather construction that’s significantly more premium compared to other drops. Working on top of tumbled base, it’s overlaid by panels and panels of vivid yellow throughout for a look that is sure to turn heads. Co-branded detailing is stitched on the tongue tag, while Jordan Brand‘s legendary winged basketball emblem is finely embroidered around the heel.
Of course, you just can’t talk about this without mentioning the bold blue Swoosh that glides through the lateral sidewall. This might seem a little random at first, but the “Elkins” actually gets its name and palette from the Texas-born rapper’s alma mater, Elkins High School. It’s then finished off with a Nike Air midsole down below, and lined with a grippy gum rubber outsole – a detail that Scott has never actually done before.
At this moment in time, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Elkins” still doesn’t have an official release date. If you want this pair in your collection, make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps to find out everything that you need to know, and to increase your chances of copping!
