COMME des GARÇONS and New Balance are certainly no strangers to each other. Over the past couple of years, the duo have worked on multiple sneakers together, with each one selling out faster than the next. And even though the COMME des GARÇONS x New Balance 860v2 wa literally just revealed, we can already see it being one of 2024’s biggest drops. You can quote us on that.
Taking to the runways of Paris Fashion Week, CDG’s take on the 860v2 was unleashed as part of the Japanese imprint’s HOMME line. Introduced in a classic “Grey” colourway and a stealthy “Black” one, both pairs work on top of ballistic mesh bases and are overlaid by panels and panels of leather and suede throughout. It’s a no-nonsense design that has worked well for decades, and one that will continue to work for years and years to come.
An oversized “N” logo is etched on the lateral and medial sidewalls, while co-branded detailing is debossed onto the tongue. Underfoot, the N-ERGY midsole bears a striking resemblance to the one found on the 1906R and the 2002R. That’s because it’s actually the same midsole, complete with the same ABZORB foam that makes it so iconic.
