Two-tone Nike Dunks dominated the market for years, and yet they remain extremely popular to many. Nike pulls a reverse card and relocates the white palette located on the base to the overlays! This Nike Dunk Low Retro “Racer Blue / Reverse Kentucky” incorporates two recognisable colours and switches their placements. It’s just like a “Home” and “Away” version of the same shoe.
One of the most popular Nike Dunk Low colourways around is the “Kentucky”. A simple blend of Blue and White in a two-tone approach represents the Wildcats uniform colours. This “Racer Blue” rendition is also called “Reverse Kentucky” as the two colours switched places. Yet they’re still fire.
The Nike Dunk Low resurfaced in the mainstream sneaker culture in late 2019, and it’s looking to stay there for many years to come. Introduced in 1985, the Nike Dunk Low first graced the basketball courts as one of Nike’s premier hoops options. Peter Moore left a long-lasting legacy in the form of his sneaker designs – the Nike Dunk included.
After new styles pushed the Dunks out of contention, it was skateboarders who then popularised the crep. In 2002, Nike debuted the Nike SB label and introduced the Nike SB Dunk silhouette. And the rest is history.
This Nike Dunk Low Retro “Racer Blue / Reverse Kentucky” appears in a dominant White makeover. Racer Blue pigments make up the base of the shoe, while White covers the toe, eyestays, Swoosh, rear panel, and lining. Blue laces and a Blue nylon tongue complement this reversed design.
The Blue rubber outsole completes the design of this new Dunk Low colourway.
Keep an eye out for its release in May 2022.
