The Air Jordan 5 “Olive” is Making a Triumphant Return

If you ask any Jordan Brand enthusiast to name some of the greatest Air Jordan 5s in sneaker history, we guarantee that the Air Jordan 5 “Olive” will get mentioned many, many times. Originally released 18 years ago in 2006, this colourway is considered by many to be the holy grail. And if you didn’t manage to secure your size back in the day, you’re in luck, as they’re restocking for the first time ever.

One of the first pairs to hit Jordan Brand’s esteemed Lifestyle Series (or LS, for short), the “Olive” boasts a military-inspired colour combination. Dressed predominantly in “Army Olive” suede, they’re fitted with white netting across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and the silhouette’s signature toggle switch lacing system. This feature has been around since the very beginning, and it’s one of the reasons why the AJ5 is so sought after even today.

Up top, you’ll find an oversized tongue in “Metallic Silver.” This is accented with “Solar Orange” and coated with a 3M reflective finish so you can flex even in low light conditions. Down below, the midsole is infused with Nike‘s critically-acclaimed Air technology, and it’s decorated with fire details across the sides as a tribute to World War II fighter jets. The trainer is then finished off with an icy blue rubber outsole, just like the OG from ’06.

If you want the Air Jordan 5 “Olive” in your rotation, then you need to listen up. Scheduled to re-release on March 2nd, these will be available at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select Jordan Brand stockists globally. For your best chance to cop, make sure you keep it locked right here at Captain Creps.
