Made in collaboration with the Colombian superstar, this special edition colourway is inspired by his son, Rio, who was born in the summer of 2021. It’s a personal homage, and a reminder of both Balvin’s own journey, both as an artist and as a father.
Like the legendary “Medellín Sunset” that dropped last year, the “Rio” boasts a premium tumbled leather construction, and a “Solar Flare” and “Total Crimson Abyss” gradient around the back that nods to the beautiful sunsets in the Prince of Reggaeton’s hometown. You’ll also find smiley faces on the heel tab and hangtag, exuding nothing but good vibes.
However, unlike the aforementioned “Medellín Sunset,” this Air Jordan 3 is dipped in a “Black” colour palette instead. It’s slick, sophisticated, and super stealthy. This shade can also be found on the elephant print overlays, which are now painted in a dark charcoal hue. All of this then comes packed in a special edition Nike shoebox, which has been made exclusively for this iconic Jordan Brand collaboration.
