The future of the Nike Air Max 90 is now. While we already have the modern version of the Nike Air Max 90 back in 2020 with the Air Max 2090 as well as the recent terrascape 90. There’s now another new AM90 version for 2022. The Nike Air Max 90 Futura is a women’s exclusive Air Max 90 model. This shoe features overlapping layers, extra panels, and updated Air Max labels. Unveiled in 2022, Nike’s set to drop multiple colourways of the AM90 Futura in the next few months.
With official photos already online, let’s check out the details of this new silhouette! The article includes official images of some upcoming colourways expectedly dropping this year.
Whilst the core of the Nike Air Max 90 DNA remains, Nike has added some twists and removed certain elements to create an Off-White esc redesign. Mesh still makes up the base, while leather comprises the overlays and mudguard. The TPU Air Max label on the side is gone; while the TPU eyestays and midfoot panels overlap really suplying that Off-White vibe.
The Swoosh logos overlap from the midsection to the mudguard. A new “Air Max” label on the tongue shows the dynamic aesthetics of modern Air Max 90 designs. Pull tabs on the tongue and heel accompanies the thick ankle collar for a better fit.
More Nike and Air labels adorn the leather heel panel. Exposed stitching and open layers are prominent in the Nike Air Max 90 Futura, multiple Swooshes and stacked layers combine to create a multo-layered upper.
With all these changes in the upper, Nike retained the entire sole of the Air Max 90. The foam midsole and heel Air Max setup stay true to OG form.
