Earlier this year, Parisian art collective 99GINGER announced that it was getting its own New Balance collaboration. While fans were extremely excited about this, it turned out that the colourway was made exclusively for its inner circle, leaving many disappointed. With that said, it looks like the 99GINGER x New Balance 1906R is finally getting a public release – and here’s what we know so far.
Just like the pair that was showcased at Paris Fashion Week, what makes this 1906R stand out is its faux croc upper. Painted in a lush green hue, it’s decked out in a glossy patent leather that extends from the toebox all the way to the heel. However, unlike the PFW edition, this is now covered in smokey black overlays. It’s an unexpected change, but many 99GINGER fans think that it ties the sneaker together much better than the OG.
Across the lateral and medial sidewalls, you’ll find the iconic “N” that works in tandem with the lacing system. All of this rests on top of a blacked out ABZORB midsole that’s as comfortable as it gets. It’s then lined with a grippy N-ERGY rubber outsole, finalising the design.
So when will the 99GINGER x New Balance 1906R release? Well, while a solid drop date has yet to be announced it should launch sometime in June. Let us know if you’ll be adding this coveted collaboration to your collection, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to cop!
