The Nike SB Dunk Low is Dominating the 2024 Olympic Games

The 2024 Olympics in Paris has officially landed, and out of all of the events, the skateboarding competition is probably the one that sneakerheads look forward to the most. First introduced during the 2020 Games in Tokyo, it’s become something of a highlight. Not only because it showcases the impressive tricks and manoeuvres performed by some of the world’s greatest athletes, it also shows off some of the best skating silhouettes of all-time, including the legendary Nike SB Dunk Low.

In the women’s division, 14-year-old gold medalist Coco Yoshizawa and her 15-year-old teammate, silver medalist Liz Akama, both from Japan, sported baggy clothing. Meanwhile, bronze medalist Rayssa Leal opted for a more athletic look, wearing a sports bra in her country’s colours along with her signature Nike SB Dunk Low.

Leal’s SB Dunk features a sophisticated colour scheme of “Pure Platinum,” “Deep Royal Blue,” “Vivid Purple,” “White,” and “Gum Yellow.” Rayssa’s personal touch is evident with her logo displayed on the medial heel and smiley face charms on the lace dubraes.

In the men’s division, bronze medalist Nyjah Huston opted for signature Nike SB Zoom Nyjah 3 “Safari.” This shoe is light, effortless, and on point, featuring Nike Zoom Air cushioning paired with a grippy yet featherlight honeycomb outsole, making it a very different shoe to skare in compare to the chunkier SB Dunk.

Japanese skateboarding icon Yuto Horigome secured his second consecutive gold medal wearing the Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk Low. This sneaker was one of the highlight releases of 2023, constructed with premium leather, suede, and mesh. It features a “White” base with “Wolf Grey” overlays and “Chocolate Brown” detailing around the collar and rubber outsole. “Pink” accents the heels and underfoot and co-branded tongue labels, and the collab is finished off with his cross-feature logo.

Nike’s dominance in the skateboarding scene was evident in these events, boosting awareness of both the Nike SB Dunk Low and Nyjah 3. Let us know which colourway you’re feeling the most!
