The Nike SB Dunk Low “City of Cinema” Draws Inspiration from Parisian Theatre

Before Hollywood became the filmmaker’s paradise that it’s know as now, moving pictures actually began picking up steam in Paris. And to celebrate this, Nike has taken the wraps off of the Nike SB Dunk Low “City of Cinema.” Inspired by the French capital’s deep love for the arts, sneakerheads and movie buffs will snap this one up.

Starting from the very top, the upper is crafted from short-haired “Sienna” suede and has been finished with a vintage effect that’s meant to resemble historic theatre façades. Light splotches on the fabric add depth and character, making each pair feel unique. A “Black” leather Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls, while “Nike” is embroidered around the heel in an old school front.

Burgundy-hued crushed velvet hits the collar and fat tongue, and complementary laces tie everything together. Special graphics make their way to the custom insoles, which are all covered in Art Deco-inspired details like comedy and tragedy masks, tasseled curtains, and an ornate stage.

With its textured materials and thoughtful touches, the Nike SB Dunk Low “City of Cinema” is a wearable piece of art that celebrates Paris’ affinity for cinema. Dropping on October 10th, let us know if you’ll be going for these, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
