Adidas Drops The AS 520 “Almost Yellow” GW9643
We’ve always go time for vintage-inspired summer kicks, especially during the heatwave of 2022! With that in mind adidas are treating us to a summer ready, brand new colourway of the 80s-inspired Adidas Originals AS 520.
The tried and tested adidas Originals footwear catalogue brings people back to the three stripes year and year again, bringing a lot of nostalgia to the OG sneakerheads. One of the rather forgotten sneakers from the 80s is the Adidas AS 500, the AS 520 being the updated version of the shoe – originally launched in the Spezial’s SS19 collection.
The Adidas AS 520 “Almost Yellow” pays tribute to classic Adidas Spezial sneakers. Yellowish details on this shoe give it a lot of vintage vibes, especially the monochromatic makeover of this trainer.

In old-school Adidas indoor shoe fashion, the Adidas AS 520 features a low-top construction with a raised heel panel. Suede comprises the entire upper of the AS 520, giving a lightweight ride with a snug feel due to its narrow base. Adidas three stripes on the sides, Trefoil on the heel, and AS 520 on the lateral part bring brand labelling to a maximum.

The entire shoe features a yellowish colour; Beige comprises the suede upper, but the vintage effect gives it a rather yellowing finish. Subtle Adidas Trefoil on the tongue and the AS 520 branding appear in White. The laces and the interior padding also arrive in Yellow.
