From Slip-On to Lace-Up: The adidas ClimaCool Enters a New Phase

adidas has taken things a step further with the ClimaCool Laced, introducing a more customisable fit to its high-tech silhouette. This latest update swaps the sock-like build of the original ClimaCool 24 for a conventional lacing system—without losing the futuristic, 3D-printed shell that turned heads last time around.

Printed as a single structure, the upper and midsole blend seamlessly using a high-performance lattice design. It’s soft, breathable, and adapts to movement with ease. Perforated zones across the shell boost airflow, while the inner footbed remains plush and lightly branded. The exaggerated sculpting gives the shoe a bold, architectural feel without sacrificing everyday comfort.

It takes around 24 hours to create each pair through adidas’ advanced additive process, involving spinning, baking, and compression using high-tech polymers. Cooling, comfort, and structure—all dialled in through design, not layers.

If the original ClimaCool was adidas testing the limits, the Laced version feels like the logical next step: more wearable, more familiar, and just as forward-thinking.

The debut colourways keep things simple but sharp. “Off White” contrasts with a striking black lacing system, while “Glory Grey” brings a more uniform look. Both are set to release on 15 July and are expected to sell fast. Let us know if you’ll be adding these to your rotation, and be sure to keep it locked for your best chance to secure your size!
