Yeezys are back! Months since adidas terminated Kanye West’s Yeezy contract due to multiple controversies, the brand finally made the decision to release the remaining Yeezy line. This decision follows on from the previous news about the massive remaining adidas Yeezy stock worth $1.3 billion. Some of these drops will be recognisable as a lot were scheduled in 2022 before the brand terminated the contract, some pairs will come as a surprise.
The brand announced that the Yeezy drops will begin starting late May 2023. Below you can see a photo of the expected pairs. Let’s dive deeper into some of these highly awaited Yeezys. Especially the return of the iconic Yeezy 350 “Pirate Black” and other returning models.
A large percentage of the sales will be donated to selected organisations working against discrimination, hate, racism, and antisemitism. Not only will this resolve the stock inventory problem of adidas, but it will also create a positive impact in the selected communities.
Below we’ll discuss some of the best pairs we rate in the lineup.
A pair that needs no introduction. The Yeezy Boost 350 “Pirate Black” is one of the few Yeezy Boost 350 colourways from 2015. Originally rumoured years ago, now finally confirmed by adidas. Those looking to get one of the rarest Yeezys in the market or those looking to resell will definitely prioritise this one.
There’s just something about black and white sneakers that make them extremely popular. Nike may have the endless Panda Dunk restock, but the adidas Yeezy has the Zebra! This colourway will once again return as part of the upcoming Yeezy restock. The Yeezy 350 V2 “Zebra” features zebra patterns of white with black stripes. Reverse SPLY-350 branding arrives in red.
This Yeezy 500 “Utility Black” rendition first debuted in 2018. The monochromatic all-black colour scheme joined other neutral-coloured Yeezy 500 colourways during its first run. It’s now back thanks to the restock! The shoe features an airy mesh base with suede overlays on the toe, eyestays, and heel panels. Its Feet You Wear technology taken from the adidas KB8 3 basketball shoe also stays put.
The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Carbon Beluga is a brand-new colourway that puts a spin on the Beluga rendition. This time, the Primeknit upper weave goes dark; allowing the orange midfoot strip to stand out very well.
Aside from these pairs we highlighted, you can expect a bunch more YZY drops in the coming month. Pairs like the Foam Runner, Yeezy Slide, 450, Yeezy 700, and 700 v2 will also make their way to the release calendar.
Stay tuned for more upcoming updates regarding the Yeezy comeback.
