CLOT x adidas Superstar “Patchwork” Is a Mismatch Made to Work

Edison Chen’s run with adidas continues to break boundaries, and his latest take on the Superstar doesn’t hold back. The CLOT x adidas Superstar “Patchwork” layers materials, patterns, and colour in a way that feels messy on paper, but comes together with surprising balance on foot.

Corduroy, suede, and houndstooth fabrics all make an appearance, stitched together across the upper in a deliberately uneven construction. Thick contrast threads highlight each panel, while jagged three Stripes bring extra energy to the sides. Colour-wise, the shoe leans autumnal — deep olive, rust orange, teal, and off-white create that warm, earthy mix CLOT has favoured throughout the adidas link-up.

The branding takes a step back. A gold Chinese character hits the lateral midfoot, with a tonal CLOT stamp on the heel tab. The signature shell toe remains untouched, anchoring the collab in Superstar territory. Underfoot, the serrated ripple sole returns, first seen on their Stan Smith Espadrille, adding grip and another textural shift.

It’s a bold take, and one that feels truer to CLOT’s voice than past pairs. No date for this release just yet, but we’re expecting these pre Autumn.
