First Look at the atmos x New Balance 1000 “Bāṅdhnū”

The New Balance 1000 is having a bit of a moment. After teaming up with Aimé Leon Dore and Joe Freshgoods, the retro runner is now getting the atmos Tokyo treatment with the atmos x New Balance 1000 “Bāṅdhnū”. Inspired by bandana culture, the entire sneaker is drenched in paisley – both inside and out.

First teased by creative director Hirofumi Kojima on Instagram earlier this year, it’s easy to see why it’s drawn so much attention. A base of rich black suede provides contrast against intricate white paisley graphics that sprawl across the overlays and interior bootie.

Crisp embroidery outlines the branding, giving the New Balance sneaker a clean visual hit without overpowering the detailed print. The “Bāṅdhnū” name, meaning “to tie” in Hindi, reflects the traditional tie-dye technique that inspired the design.

Not only is the atmos x New Balance 1000 “Bāṅdhnū” an awesome-looking trainer, it also celebrates the Tokyo boutique’s 25th anniversary, with select pairs shipping alongside matching bandanas. Set to drop on May 23rd, let us know if you’ll be adding these to your rotation, and be sure to keep it locked for your best chance to secure your size!
