The age-old saying, “If it ain’t broke, why fix it?” appears to encapsulate JJJJound and New Balance‘s ongoing collaboration ethos. Their joint ventures in recent times have unveiled numerous outstanding footwear creations. With the Montreal label’s impeccable aesthetic merging with the Boston sportswear company’s commitment to comfort and excellence, it’s led to a bevy of iconic shoes, including the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R “Storm Blue” that’s just been revealed for Fall/Winter 2023.
JJJJound’s take on the 2002R is exactly what you’d expect in all the best ways possible. Showcasing a diverse range of blues, the hues make their way across the entire upper, which is crafted from a delectable combination of leather and suede. A black italicised “N” logo features across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and this is complemented by the inner lining. Accompanying this are off-white laces for a dash of contrast, coupled with a grey mesh foundation, enhancing the shoe’s layered feel and richness.
The Justin Saunders-helmed imprint’s signature logo is stamped on the tongue, and underfoot, the sneaker sits on top of an N-ERGY midsole. The unit combines white and off-white for a neat appearance and is finished off with a black rubber outsole for durability and comfort.
The New Balance 2002R “Storm Blue” is set to release on October 26th, so make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
