First Look at the Nike Air Max 1 “Big Head Mode”

Following the release of the Tomb Raider-inspired Air Max 1 and the Donkey Kong version, Nike‘s revisiting another classic video game this season with the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 “Big Head Mode.” A homage to GoldenEye 007, the legendary Nintendo 64 shooter that revolutionised multiplayer forever, it’s been revealed as part of the American sportswear company’s .SWOOSH collection. If you want to level up your sneaker game, this is a trainer that you can’t miss.

If you’re not sure where the “Big Head Mode” gets its name, it’s basically inspired by the unforgettable cheat code that gave every character hilariously oversized heads. Working on top of a white mesh base, it’s overlaid by black leather throughout – a nod to James Bond’s signature tux. Each panels is finished with sharp, jagged edges as a playful tribute to the video game graphics at the time. This effect also features on the lacing system and Swoosh.

Shiny gold accents hit the tongue and laces as a homage to the infamous Golden Gun, and around the back, the Nike logo is surrounded by red and blue health and armour bars. All of this then rests on top of a grey-out Air midsole for maximum comfort and cushioning with every step.

The Nike Air Max 1 “Big Head Mode” launches via .SWOOSH on April 7th. Let us know if you’ll be going for these, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size.
