Following an early leaked image from a few weeks ago, it looks like we’re getting this colourway sooner than expected! The coveted Air Max 1 ’86 Big Bubble adds yet another style to the roster since Air Max Day 2023. This time, it’s bringing the iconic “Safari” rendition. Official images of the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari” emerge ahead of its 16th June 2023 launch date. Also dubbed “Lost Sketch”, this rendition boasts a handwritten AIR lettering above the big bubble as a nod to the ’86 prototype.

The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari” features a grey mesh underlay with light blue textile overlays on the midfoot and heel. Safari prints on the suede mudguard resemble the iconic atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Safari” from 2001.
Nike Air Max branding adorns the tongue, heel, and sockliner in blue. Grey laces blend well with the tongue and mesh upper.
Yellowish PU foam midsoles bring vintage reimagined aesthetics to the OG Air Max design.
The big bubble boasts four visible windows for more cushioning. This rendition has a handwritten AIR label as a nod to the first sketch of the AM1.
The iconic waffle sole designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman concludes the classic makeover.

With all the previewed Air Max 1 ’86 pairs yet to release, Nike adds another one to the roster! 2023 is shaping up to be truly a special year for the Air Max 1 as the success of the Big Bubble extends to these new colourways. We now have a first look at the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari”, putting yet another twist to the iconic Safari collection.

The shoe features a light grey mesh base with light blue canvas midfoot and heel overlays. Midnight navy tones comprise the suede Swoosh to complement the navy inner lining. Safari prints appear on the leather mudguard. The laces also come in grey for harmonious colour blocking.
Nike Air Max labels arrive on the tongue and heel.
Adding a vintage aesthetic to the shoe is the yellowish PU foam midsole. The large heel Air unit fulfils the Big Bubble rendition.
A midnight navy waffle sole completes this new Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari” colourway.
Just like all Big Bubble pairs, the shoe will also come in an aged black shoe box with red scratches all over.
