First Look: Nike Air Max 1 “Chili” 2023 FD9082-101

Coming off the back of Air Max Day 2023, Nike apeears to have even more throwback heat in the pipeline. The 2023 event being even more special thanks to the Air Max 1 ’86 Big Bubble returning for the first time ever! The Nike Air Max 1 “Chili” 2023 pays homage to the original colourway from 2003. This upcoming 2023 version is not going to be a 1-of-1 makeover as the shoe boasts some tweaks.

With the release date still unknown, expect more details to emerge along with the official images. Let’s check out these early images via @long7ze in the meantime.

The 2023 edition of the Chili Air Max 1 features a White mesh base with a Black suede mudguard. Light Grey suede reinforcements cover the midfoot and heel overlays. This is a lighter shade compared to the 2003 rendition.

Chili Red accents on the Swoosh, top plastic lace loop, and Nike Air labels on the tongue change the look of the shoe – in a good way! The tongue is different to the OG as the tongue tag appears in Red with the Nike branding in White.

Embroidered Nike Air labels on the heel appear in Black rather than the Red found on the OG.

Another huge update is the rubber outsole. This pair appears in Black and White, removing the Red toe area as seen on the 2003 pair.

We can expect more Air Max 1 drops throughout 2023, including this one. This years set to be another big year for Air Max since Nike decided to go heavy on the AM1 releases!
