Nike’s Air Max 1 35th anniversary celebration continues to bring in more surprises. After some highly anticipated collabs in the first half of 2022, rare colourways will be returning for the first time, including the Nike Air Max 1 “Crepe Hemp”.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Crepe Hemp” originally came out in 2004; boasting an upper made of hemp. But the biggest highlight of the shoe comes in the outsole design, which we’ll explain in more detail below. Now back for the first time ever, this “Crepe Hemp” colourway sticks to the original with all the stand out details.
Let’s check out the aesthetics on this awesome pair while we wait for Nike’s official release details. Expect these to be another sell-out pair, definitely a must-cop for collectors or anyone who witnessed their first arrival in 2004.
While the colour blocking remains the same, the 2022 version swapped out the traditional hemp fabric with woven material. The woven upper makes up the underlays of the shoe, while the Medium Brown suede covers the mudguard. Light Bone leather overlays on the midfoot allow the Mint Foam Swooshes and Air Max unit to stand out.
Swooshes and Air Max labels on the tongue and heel appear in Mint Foam for a livelier approach.
The biggest update on the Crepe colourway is the outsole. Instead of the regular waffle sole, Nike incorporated a gum-like crepe outsole. The 2022 release will feature the same design, fulfilling all the OG features of the 2004 rendition.
No release date has been provided, but expect Nike to bring out the Nike Air Max 1 “Crepe Hemp” soon enough. It looks like more Air Max 1 surprises will come our way while we go through the second half of 2022.
