Coming Soon: The Nike Air Max 97 Futura

The future is now as Nike drops another Futura edition of an Air Max icon. This time, the Air Max 97 gets the Futura treatment. We saw the Nike Air Max 90 Futura debut in 2022 as a women’s exclusive model. This may be the same case for the new Air Max 97 Futura. Below we have official images of two upcoming colourways, the Olive and Cream which we can expect to release soon.

Since we have no release date yet, let’s check out the details and design updates of the Air Max 97 Futura. It’s a good alternative if you want a different AM97 aside from the Terrascape version.

Wavy panels still headline the shoe, but there are more overlapping layers than ever before. Ballistic mesh makes up the upper of the shoe for a lightweight and durable build. The mudguard features a mixture of fuzzy suede with leather backing on the midfoot where the Swoosh resides.

We can see more textile reinforcements on the upper panel and the eyestays.

Another huge upgrade on the Air Max 97 Futura is the higher heel panel which hugs your foot well.

The full-length Air Max unit remains but the traction pattern has been modified. A rugged outsole with large outriggers on the edges of the sole provides a long-lasting grip paired with lateral support. Modern Air Max labels appear on the midfoot section.

We only have official images of these two upcoming colourways. The Nike Air Max 97 Futura will most likely launch sometime in the summer season.
