Remember the Air More Uptempo Couch a few years ago that caught a lot of attention in the sneaker world? Well, Nike looks to officially bring a cosy version of the 1996 iconic basketball shoe this Autumn. Move over Air Max 90 Slides, the Nike Air More Uptempo Slides are incoming!
What immediately stands out on this drop is the fact that the entire sole unit remained true to form. Yes that’s right, they have that full-length visible Air Max unit just like the OG sneaker version!
Let’s check out the rest of the details of the upcoming Nike Air More Uptempo Slide. We already know it’s going to be extremely comfortable, just by experiencing the classic Uptempo Air Unit we know and love!
The slide features what seems to be a nubuck upper; similar to the materials used on the shoe. Ventilations and an embroidered Swoosh across the midfoot stay true to the design of the Uptempo.
The iconic “AIR” lettering appears on both sides, keeping the same font and style.
Looking to maximise comfort, the soft foam footbed provides that cosy step-in comfort. Making you not want to take them off once worn!
Underneath the footbed is another foam midsole housing the visible Air unit that runs full-length. The Nike Air More Uptempo grabbed a lot of attention because of the large “AIR” lettering and its insane comfort. You can expect the same from this slide, without having to deal with the rather heavyweight construction of the sneaker.
The outsole also remains true to form, featuring segmented herringbone traction patterns with a bunch of Swooshes and ovals.
As of writing, Nike has not officially unveiled the Air More Uptempo Slide. But rumours have an expected Autumn 2022 launch. The launch colourway looks to be the “Black White” rendition. The same as the launch colourway of the Air More Uptempo back in 1996.
We’d like to think Scottie Pippen himself would proudly rock these!
