With Nike Air Trainers making their way back to Nike’s back catalogue, it’s just right we get the return of the Nike Air Trainer SC. The return of the Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid “Chlorophyll” signaled the revival of the brand’s cross-sporting line; and now that we get a confirmed 2022 return of the Nike Air Trainer SC “Auburn”, things just got even more exciting.
Last released way back 2017, the popular “Auburn” colourway makes its way to the Nike Air Trainer SC. Pictured below is in Grade School sizing, but expect bigger sizes to surface anytime soon as we also wait for the release date.
Hailed as the signature shoe of baseball and football legend Bo Jackson; the Air Trainer SC was as versatile as he is. This colour scheme pays tribute to Jackson’s alma mater, the University of Auburn.
Leather makes up the base of the shoe, with multiple perforations for increased ventilation and breathability. Ditching the midfoot strap, various overlays on the sides reinforce the cross-trainer. Overlays appear in Blue, White, and Orange as an unofficial homage to Auburn’s team colours.
Grey mudguards cover the rest of the lateral and the rear panels for extra support and lateral stability.
One of the biggest upgrades is the visible Air Max unit in the heel. Housed within a PU midsole, the Air Max provides ample cushioning and comfort – suitable for all-day wear as athletes move from one routine to another.
A plush tongue and ankle collar hugs the foot and help the rubber lace loops give an improved fit.
The thick and durable waffle traction outsole pattern grips almost everywhere; providing the much-needed confidence to execute that game-changing manoeuvre.
