Earlier this year, rumours began swirling around the sneakersphere suggesting that Travis Scott was going to focus all of his efforts on his upcoming Jumpman Jack line. Comprising a trio of silhouettes, the collection will no doubt be one of La Flame’s biggest endeavours to date. With that said, just as we were about to mourn the loss of his take on the Air Jordan 1 Low, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Black Olive” pops up out of nowhere. And, while it might sound like an overstatement at first, many sneakerheads are already calling this his best work to date. So, let’s check it out.
From a distance, this Air Jordan looks almost identical to the “Dark Mocha” from 2019. However, instead of the chocolatey brown panels, this trainer is overlaid by “Medium Olive” suede instead, resulting in an almost military-inspired aesthetic. The base is dipped in an all-black hue, while fiery red accents make their way to the tongue tag and heel badge for a bit of spice.
Underfoot, you’ll find a “Muslin” Nike Air midsole that’s quite similar to the one found on the Texas rapper’s 2021 collaboration with fragment design. And it wouldn’t be a Cactus Jack Air Jordan 1 without the iconic backwards Swoosh across the lateral sidewalls, which is reminiscent of the one from the legendary “Reverse Mocha.”
While there isn’t a confirmed release date just yet, sneakerheads can anticipate the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Black Olive” to drop sometime in the autumn of 2024. If you want a pair, make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to cop!
