Located in Washington D.C., Howard University is one of the most prestigious colleges in America. Since 2004, the establishment has had an official partnership with Jordan Brand, and to celebrate the 20th year of this historic collaboration, the very appropriately-named Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” has been revealed.
Arriving in HBCU’s school colours, this special edition Air Jordan 1 is crafted from a premium leather construction and works on top of a white base. Navy panels wrap around the lacing system, toebox, and Nike Swoosh, and the heel is fired up with an all-red hue. An additional Swoosh is stitched along the front, just in case one just wasn’t enough.
Down south, the midsoles are infused with Air technology for unrivalled comfort and cushioning, and they’re dipped in a creamy “Sail” hue to give it a pre-aged aesthetic. While the shoe clearly pays homage to Howard, there isn’t any branding tying it to the university. That means it’ll appeal to both Bisons and general sneakerheads alike.
