Over the past six years or so, Travis Scott has completely dominated the sneaker game with his collaboration with Nike and Jordan Brand. Taking on legendary silhouettes from the Nike SB Dunk Low to the Air Jordan 1 High, he’s also worked on his own apparel and accessories along the way, with each collection selling out within mere seconds of dropping.
In 2021, La Flame took this partnership one step further by teaming up with the godfather of Japanese streetwear Hiroshi Fujiwara on not one, but two ultra-hyped trainers. However, according to the latest reports, that’s nothing compared to the Texan rapper’s next power move, as it looks like he’ll be working on his on sub-label: Jumpman Jack.
Rumours of this first started popping up at the start of the year, however, up until this point the details were quite blurry. Originally called the Jordan Cut The Check, industry insiders have clarified that this was just a placeholder name, and it will indeed be dubbed Jumpman Jack – a mix between Jumpman and Scott’s Cactus Jack brand. While nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, our sources tell us it’ll comprise three distinct silhouettes.
First spotted on the red carpets of the Cannes Film Festival, Travis was spotted rocking the Jordan Jumpman Jack SP OPT 3 in a black and brown colourway that falls perfectly in-line with his aesthetic. Bearing some similarities to Ishod Wair’s signature with Nike SB, it features a low-cut design and a multi-panelled construction. The trainer also boasts the signature backwards Swoosh and a Jumpman logo that’s embroidered on the cushioned tongue.
Following this, the Houston-born multi-hyphenate was sitting courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game when he was photographed with another model, which is rumoured to be either the Jordan Jumpman Jack TR or the Jordan Jumpman Jack SP in “Sail.” Unlike the SP OPT 3 that we previously mentioned, this one goes for a more basketball-ready look, with a chunky sole that’s taken straight from the Air Tech Challenge 3 (the same shoe that inspired the Air Yeezy 2 from back in the day).
Finally, a third design made a cameo on the artist’s Instagram recently, and while next to nothing was known about it before, our sources tell us that this is the Jordan Jumpman Jack Sharkidon “Mocha.” Based off of the legendary Zoom Spiridon, it works on top of a fish scale-like textile base and is overlaid with mesh and leather panelling throughout. A midfoot strap, reminiscent of the Air Trainer Huarache, wraps around the vamp, and it’s finished off with shark tooth detailing on either side of the sole unit.
The Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack line is set to be another game-changer for the sneaker game. It’s expected to be released in two phases: initially in December 2023, followed by Spring 2024. Details below:
